If you regularly use public transit or sustainable transportation options, the Guaranteed Ride Home program ensures you’re never stranded. In the event of an emergency, eligible commuters can receive a free ride home via Uber, Lyft, or taxi.

Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) Program

Palm Tran riders who regularly commute using public transportation, carpool, vanpool, bicycle, or by walking may be eligible for the Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) program, offered by South Florida Commuter Services.

The GRH program provides free emergency rides home up to six times per year for registered commuters. It’s a safety net that gives you peace of mind, knowing you won’t be stranded if an unexpected situation arises, such as:

• Personal or family emergencies
• Unexpected overtime
• Illness

How It Works

Once enrolled, eligible participants can request a ride when they experience a qualifying emergency during a workday. Rides may be provided by taxi, rideshare, or rental car, depending on availability.

Who Is Eligible?

You must commute at least three times per week using a sustainable mode of transportation (such as Palm Tran), and you must be registered in advance with South Florida Commuter Services.
