How To Ride Palm Tran

Whether you’re a new rider or a regular commuter, Palm Tran makes it easy to get around Palm Beach County.

Plan Your Trip

Use Palm Tran’s Trip Planner, route schedules, or Google Maps to find the best bus and schedule for your destination. You can also call Customer Service at 561-841-4287 for assistance.

Arrive Early

Get to your bus stop at least five minutes before the scheduled time. Make sure you’re waiting at a designated Palm Tran bus stop.

Have Your Fare Ready

Be ready to pay your fare as you board. Palm Tran accepts:

  • Cash (exact change only)
  • Paradise Pass app or reloadable smart card.
  • Limited-use passes, including All-Day, 31-Day, and Discounted Passes
  • Contactless payment using a debit or credit card, or a mobile wallet on select buses

Boarding the Bus

Wait for the bus to come to a complete stop and let passengers exit before boarding. Enter through the front door and pay your fare. Riders with mobility devices may request the ramp or kneeling bus feature.

While on Board

  • Find a seat quickly and hold onto a handrail if standing.
  • Priority seating at the front of the bus is reserved for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
  • Keep aisles clear and store personal items securely.
  • Eating, drinking, smoking, and playing loud music are not permitted.
  • Be courteous to fellow passengers and limit phone use.

Requesting Your Stop

When your stop is approaching, pull the yellow cord or press the stop button to alert the driver. Exit through the rear door if possible to help keep boarding efficient.

  • Text your bus stop number to 561-561 to get an instant ETA on the next bus arrival. (text and data rates may apply).
  • Travel Training is available to help first-time riders learn how to use the system.

  • Palm Tran operates 365 days a year, including all major holidays. However, holiday schedules may vary-please check for updates during those times.
