The Palm Tran Planning Department plays a key role in shaping the future of public transportation in Palm Beach County. Our team works to design an efficient, accessible, and equitable transit system through data-driven service planning, community engagement, and long-range development strategies.
The Service Planning & Scheduling team manages three annual service changes, adjusts routes, schedules, and creates the operator runcut. They also oversee bus stop installations, removals, and relocations. Upcoming May 2025 service changes include increased weekday frequency on Route 43, ridership, and on-time performance improvements.
The Strategic Planning team focuses on long-term transit improvements that align with the Transit Development Plan (TDP), supporting the county’s evolving transportation needs, and helps shape the Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP). Upcoming projects include the Bus Shelter Program and Transit Signal Priority upgrades, designed to enhance the rider experience.
